Now is the best time of year for that perfect sunrise photo

Beach Shots By Craig ONeal

Few photos can compare to the beauty of a tropical sunrise, and this is the perfect time of year to capture yours.  September and October are prime sunrise photo opportunities due to the wonderful tropical cloud formations in the Gulf Stream located about 50 miles off our coast. I am talking about soul shattering patterns, when sun rays filter down though the clouds hitting the water like constantly changing concert lighting. My wife loves the many sunrise photos that I take and put up as wallpaper on her desktop computer. Successful photos happen when opportunity and preparedness intersect, and now is the opportunity…so how about being prepared? Shooting sunrises can be a very challenging but fun experience. First think about the composition and any physical features to include in the photo, like our pier or a life guard chair to add definition. Check sunrise times and make sure you allow enough time to get to your destination so that you are not rushed.  Now, when you have an idea of what the photo should look like its time to make sure you have the camera set up for these light changing shots.   Some very good advice along these lines can be found at; http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/how-to-photograph-sunrises-and-sunsets/ Remember, the more you practice the better your odds are of capturing that brilliant photo. Happy shooting.
