[JACKSONVILLE, FL] -Local Fresh Market stores will participate in the company’s 15th annual Sidewalk Sale on Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Hot dogs, root beer floats, and gourmet cookies will be offered in exchange for a $2 donation to JDRF in support of its mission to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. Sugar free root beer and ice cream will be an option.
The Fresh Market is pleased to supply all food products for the Sidewalk Sale and will donate 100 percent of the money raised over the three days directly to JDRF. In addition, The Fresh Market is also running a “sneaker sale” campaign that will run through September 13. Customers can purchase paper “sneakers” for a $1 minimum donation at The Fresh Market’s check out counters to show support for this worthy cause.
Children with type 1 diabetes and their families will attend The Fresh Market’s Sidewalk Sale at all locations to represent JDRF as ambassadors and to thank supporters.
“The annual Fresh Market Sidewalk Sale has become an important partnership for JDRF in helping us turn research into reality and find a cure for diabetes,” said Alan J. Lewis, Ph.D., President and CEO of JDRF. “We are so thankful for The Fresh Market for being such dedicated supporters of our mission.”
Participating store locations in North Florida include: Mandarin, Atlantic Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach, Gainesville, Tallahassee and Destin. For address information, please visit www.jdrfnorthflorida.org or www.thefreshmarket.com.
“Our company-wide Sidewalk Sale brings communities together each year to increase awareness and raise critically needed funds for research related to type 1 diabetes,” said Ray Berry, The Fresh Market’s Founder and Chairman. “This is a cause our company has championed for many years and we are always excited to see how our stores embrace the event in their own neighborhoods.” In 2008 stores in North Florida generated over $15,000 as a team through the Sidewalk Sale program. This year local stores have a goal to surpass $20,000. Help by stopping in to a local Fresh Market this weekend and enjoy a hot dog or old fashioned root beer float! |
