Sydney McKenna: Evaporation

July 11 – August 16, 2008

Sydney McKenna’s airy land and skyscapes evoke a sense of drama and mystery that portray the artist’s fascination with the intersection of the physical and spiritual worlds. Of her obsession with clouds, Sydney says: “The ethereal nature of clouds; the phenomenon of evaporation in general, reminds me of the spark of life; a lifting of the physical, into the spiritual. In the South, our delightfully lively humid environment provides me with a constant source of inspiration for expressing my fascination with this event.
