Please join us for a special opening reception and gallery exhibition at the Cultural Center, featuring wood sculptures by noted sculptor David Engdahl. Engdahl's works have been exhibited throughout the United States and in U.S. embassies in Bahrain, Latvia, Angola and Zimbabwe.
Meet the artist and enjoy the music of the Milestone Jazz Trio at the opening reception. Complementing this celebration of the arts are creative libations provided by The Twisted Martini and delectable hors d'oeuvres created by The Chef's Garden.

Xscapes "Fun in the Sun" Event
Saturday May 24th from 9:00-4:00
Xscapes’ monthly event in May will focus on having fun outside. Jennifer Hayes, a local designer will be doing a seminar on fun items to add to your landscape that you can interact with. See displays that will inspire you to have fun in your yard. There will putting and chipping contests on Collins Turf chipping and putting green display. Also Jamba Juice will be giving away samples of their delicious smoothies in our tropical area and samples of food cooked on Custom Summer Kitchens’ grill display will be available for tasting. Lori Johnson with Infant Swimming Resource will be on site to demonstrate the proper swim techniques for child water safety, in the Team Spaulding swimming pool display. ISR has 40 years of research and development on their program and are on a mission to see that "Not one more child drowns". And as usual during our events, Xscapes Certified eXperts will be here by their displays to answer all of your home improvement questions. The "Fun in the Sun" event will be an all day long event from 9-4, so stop in anytime or call 904-880-8890 for specific times of seminars.

There will be various food & craft vendors, train & motor car exhibits, live music & entertainment on the front deck. The highlight of the two-day festival will be the Railroad Days Parade, which is set for Saturday May 31st at 11:00 am. The Mickler St County Bldg will showcase model train displays inside & a Classic Car Show in the parking lot.The Town of Callahan will be having children's activities at Ewing Park.

According to Marguerite Mumford, the Adopt-A-Road Program encourages businesses, industry, civic, youth and nonprofit organizations to adopt an area of roadway in their communities. "We selected about a mile of roadway on Hodges Blvd. and Hunt Club Road near Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville. The area has a mix of residential and commercial properties along the roadway and we look forward to helping the City of Jacksonville with monthly litter collection and other beautification activities," said Marguerite Mumford.

For each week of this fun camp, A. Chef’s Cooking Studio staff will teach area youth a different mouthwatering menu of delicacies that will be prepared and consumed by your culinary ace. Food critics (otherwise known as parents) are invited to visit on Friday to enjoy a taste testing and culinary celebration. Choose all three weeks of camp or just try one. Paul Davis Restoration of North Florida to participate in City of Jacksonville’s Adopt-A-Road program beginning on June 21
Jacksonville, FL - Marguerite and Mike Mumford, Paul Davis Restoration of North Florida owners, have recently announced their company’s participation in the City of Jacksonville’s Adopt-A-Road program. According to Marguerite Mumford, the Adopt-A-Road Program encourages businesses, industry, civic, youth and nonprofit organizations to adopt an area of roadway in their communities. "We selected about a mile of roadway on Hodges Blvd. and Hunt Club Road near Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville. The area has a mix of residential and commercial properties along the roadway and we look forward to helping the City of Jacksonville with monthly litter collection and other beautification activities," said Marguerite Mumford.

Beach United Methodist Church will host a special evening of music & drama to benefit Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church. The downtown Jacksonville church was ravaged by a fire in the early morning hours of December 23, 2007. This special benefit is scheduled for Saturday evening, June 14th at 6:00pm and will be held in the Methodist church’s Family Life Center auditorium, located at 325 7th Avenue No. in Jacksonville Beach. Entertainment will be provided by the touring worship team known as “Sold Out”. The cast of “Sold Out” is made up of forty students and young adults representing nine different Duval & St.
